Tejashwi Yadav fires 12 sharp questions ahead of PM Modi's Bihar visit, asks if PM will respond
Patna (Bihar) [India], June 20 (ANI): Just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav fired off 12-pointed questions, challenging the Prime Minister to answer them during his speech, according to the official statement. The sharp political attack, posted on Friday early morning, aimed to highlight what Yadav called the failures of the BJP-led governments at both the state and central levels. In a strongly worded open letter addressed directly to the Prime Minister, Tejashwi Yadav alleged that PM Modi has repeatedly made false promises to the people of Bihar and demanded accountability on issues ranging from poverty and unemployment to corruption and law and order. 'I have heard that you are coming to Bihar again today to shower lies and jumlas,' Yadav said. 'On this occasion, I have some questions for you, hope you will definitely answer them in your speech today.' In his first question, the RJD leader asked whether PM Modi had reviewed the promises made during the previous elections, where he alleged that the PM addressed over 200 rallies filled with 'lies.' He wrote, 'Our humble request is that before coming to Bihar, you should review and analyse your previous speeches and promises. I can say with certainty that you will not be able to talk to yourself due to embarrassment after listening to your own speech. Will you accept this request?' Continuing his attack, Yadav asked if PM Modi would again repeat the 'showy foundation laying, inauguration and commencement' of schemes that have been announced multiple times since 2014. He also questioned why Bihar remains at the bottom in terms of poverty, unemployment, per capita income, investment, literacy, and industrial growth despite a 20-year rule by a 'double engine government,' as per the release. Highlighting regional development, Yadav drew attention to contributions made by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. 'Will you tell the people of Saran division that Shri Lalu Prasad ji had established JP University and three big railway factories along with numerous development works in this division?' he asked, noting that engines from Marhaura are now being exported. According to the official statement, he also questioned if the PM Modi would 'tell the people of Bihar that during the 12 years of rule of JP, more than 100,000 innocent people were killed and 120,000 girls were raped?' Yadav asked whether the PM would be 'ashamed to tell this achievement of the demon king of JP or will you forget it?' He then asked whether Modi would speak about the 'unconscious state' of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in the same way he once spoke of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, and whether the PM would honour those nominated by allies as 'sons-in-law of JP.' Targeting law and order, the RJD leader questioned whether the PM would address recent firing incidents outside the CM's residence and Raj Bhavan. He wrote, 'Will you muster the courage to condemn... or will you conveniently ignore the failure of the 20 years of government and blame the opposition?' as per the release. He asked Prime Minister Modi if he would acknowledge more than 20 scams allegedly worth over Rs 2 lakh crore that occurred during the tenure of the current government. 'Note that earlier you have already counted 20 scams of Nitish Kumar ji from your own mouth,' Yadav reminded. In a series of policy-focused questions, Yadav asked whether Modi would address issues like poverty, unemployment, inflation, bribery, migration, paper leaks, and the domicile policy during his speech. He then accused the state administration of forcing government workers, including ASHA workers and anganwadi staff, to attend the PM's rally at their own expense. 'Why are the administration and the organisers of your rally harassing the poor employees financially and mentally?' he asked. In an official statement, Yadav ended his questioning, saying, 'Why Indian soldiers were allegedly stopped from retaliating against terrorists following what he claimed was a ceasefire announcement by then-US President Donald Trump. Why did your dear friend Trump announce a ceasefire before you? Who is this Trump to mediate in our matters?' Meanwhile, PM Modi will embark on a two-day visit, beginning with Bihar and Odisha today and then Andhra Pradesh. Today, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects at Siwan, a major boost to infrastructure and socio-economic development in Bihar. (ANI)

"Yoga builds inner strength for future challenges," says NCC Cadets in Ahmedabad ahead of International Yoga Day
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 20(ANI): Several National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets gathered in Ahmedabad on Friday to take part in a disciplined and energetic yoga session to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga. On Friday, many cadets described the ancient practice as a valuable part of their routine, helping them stay physically fit and mentally focused as they prepare for challenging roles in the defence services. Speaking to ANI, Cadet Raksha Bhadauria said, 'As NCC cadets, staying mentally and physically strong is essential for us. Yoga plays a key role in helping us build that strength from within. Today, through this practice, we are sending a collective message to adopt yoga, stay healthy, and become stronger.' Bhadauria added that yoga also prepares cadets for future responsibilities in defence. 'If we ever get posted in challenging situations, yoga will help us stay mentally fit and calm in decision-making. The preparation we get through yoga at NCC will benefit us ahead,' she said. Cadet Nandana Nair told ANI that yoga is a practical and accessible fitness practice. 'Yoga brings us peace of mind and strength. It can be done easily at home. You don't need a gym. I believe every Indian should do yoga--it's beneficial for physical health and also supports us in future roles in defence services,' Nair added. Echoing similar thoughts, Cadet Krishna said, 'As you can see, all of us cadets are celebrating the 11th International Yoga Day. Yoga not only keeps the body healthy but also brings mental peace and emotional balance. This makes it especially important for us as future defence personnel.' Speaking to ANI, Colonel GS Vidyarthi, Commanding Officer of 1 Gujarat Battalion, said,'Today, on behalf of Ahmedabad Group Headquarters NCC, we are observing International Yoga Day with the participation of nearly a thousand cadets. Yoga has always been a part of our lives, and it is encouraging to see young cadets embrace it enthusiastically. Their participation sends a strong message to society about the importance of fitness and mental well-being.' He added, 'For NCC cadets, especially those aspiring to join the armed forces, yoga builds the resilience to stay calm and make sound decisions in critical situations. A disciplined yoga routine supports both physical health and mental clarity, which are essential for the future of a healthy nation.' Around 1000 cadets from the National Cadet Corps performed Yoga in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Friday ahead of the International Yoga Day. An invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition, Yoga has emerged as one of the most trusted means to boost physical and mental well-being. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'yuj', meaning 'to join,' 'to yoke,' or 'to unite.' It symbolises the unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between human and nature, and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Recognising its universal appeal, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. India proposed the draft resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga, which was endorsed by a record 175 member states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi first introduced the proposal in his address during the opening of the 69th session of the General Assembly on September 27, 2014. The date of June 21 was chosen as it is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. This day represents a symbolic harmony between nature and human wellness and is important in many cultures. This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga, with the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'. This theme echoes a vital truth about the interconnectedness of health, sustainability, and the environment, aligning with India's 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' vision highlighted during its G20 presidency. The International Day of Yoga 2025 will not just be a one-day observance--it will reflect India's enduring commitment to holistic health, environmental harmony, and global well-being. With 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' as its guiding principle, India continues to lead the world in connecting physical fitness with mindful living. (ANI)

Placard with
Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 20 (ANI): A placard bearing the provocative slogan 'Rapa Rapa Narukutham' (we'll chop heads one by one) caused a stir during YSR Congress Party President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tour of Palnadu on Thursday. The slogan, reportedly held by a supporter of the YSRCP, compared a possible YSRCP return to power in 2029 to a traditional ritual during the Gangamma Jatara, where symbolic beheadings take place. The incident gained traction and drew criticism, prompting the police to register a case against the individual and initiate an investigation. Responding to the issue during a press meeting on Friday, YS Jagan made a pointed remark. He questioned, 'Is it wrong to hold a placard with a dialogue from Allu Arjun's movie Pushpa?' referring to the now-infamous phrase. He further added that, upon investigation, it was revealed that the person holding the placard actually belongs to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and holds active membership in it. Taking a jab at TDP leadership, Jagan remarked, 'Maybe he couldn't tolerate the wrongdoings of his own party's leader, Chandrababu, and that's why he was talking about chopping off heads of his own people Earlier, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSR Congress Party President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of conspiring to disrupt his meeting with tobacco farmers in Prakasam district. He added that the farmers showed great restraint despite provocation and violence instigated by TDP 'goons.' 'I visited Podili in Prakasam Dist. to meet distressed Tobacco farmers and offer them support, as they have been denied fair prices. Over 40,000 farmers and locals joined me in solidarity. To divert attention from the issue at hand, Chandrababu Naidu connived to send about 40 TDP workers to disrupt the meeting and provoke violence by pelting stones along our route,' Jagan Mohan Reddy said in a post on X. 'Thankfully, the farmers and public showed great restraint and did not retaliate against the acute assaults by TDP goons,' he added. (ANI)
